2017 ECPR General Conference, Oslo
11th General Conference of the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR) was held at the University of Oslo (Norway) on September 6-9, 2017. Over 2,000 scholars from across more than 45 countries gathered in Oslo. During the event, some 1,856 papers were presented across 444 panels and 72 sections. On Thursday 7 September, Johan P Olsen's Plenary Lecture dealt with Democratic Accountability and the Changing European Political Order. The plenary programme included four roundtables and six featured panels on subjects ranging from Brexit to Academic Freedom to the Internationalisation of Political Science Education. Irkutsk State University was represented at the conference by Elizaveta Matveeva with the presentation "Making Europeans in their own way: European identity construction in Italian online media discourses" and Lyudmila Igumnova with the presentation "Soft, normative or transformative power: what kind of actor the European External Action Service is in communications with Russia".
