V regional conference "Problems of social and administrative consolidation of Siberia"

CIES researches Ilya V. Oleynikov, Mikhail L. Rybalko and Lyudmila O. Igumnova took part in the V regional scientific-practical conference "Problems of social and administrative consolidation of Siberia" on December 8, 2016. The conference was held in the Scientific Library of Irkutsk State University, under the auspices of Irkutsk Regional Branch of the Russian Political Science Association, Russian Society of Political Scientists, Irkutsk regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society, the State Archive of contemporary history of Irkutsk region. The event was organized by Department of Political Science, History and Regional Studies. In recent years the conference has evolved into a fully fledged platform for regional political science community to discuss topical issues of current political process. The theme of the conference this year was "2016 Parliamentary elections in Irkutsk region". Michael Rybalko analyzed foreign media coverage of Russian parliamentary elections. Lyudmila Igumnova focused on assessment of the elections by the European Union.
